Perceived
(the following piece is a poem)
I grow upwards in my skin
Their eyes allure onwards
I wonder
If they’ve found themselves yet.
Do we feel at home in our bodies?
Or do we still seek sanity outside of ourselves?
Are we still running away from the truth?
I stretch outward!
How dare I reach beyond myself
When I grow upwards
allure best inwards towards my skin.
Their perceptions may bend
You out of shape
May the love of yourself hold you
Back together again
I thought only you knew your skin?
I know you only know your heart.
That is it lives within you my love
That is they cannot see
The things you’ve ravaged
The things you’ve healed
The things you decided to keep
I advise you let go
Of perception
I advise you not even
Perceive yourself
In your skin
You are human.
In your spirit
Their are bounds
That exists
So far outside
Of your shape
You bend
Yourself small
By not seeing your soul
It grows infinitely.
It loves infinitely
The best
But only
From within you.
